The city of Nampa is seeking input to update our Comprehensive Plan. Nampa's current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2012 after a two-year intensive process with participation from more than 300 residents. Most of the work is still relevant, but with continued growth, a detailed review of the plan and its goals is now warranted. There will be many opportunities for community members to provide input including open houses, surveys and participation in an advisory committee. The first Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 23 from 4-6 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center. The committee is expected to meet three times between now and April 2019. If you are willing to serve on the committee, please RSVP to Karla Nelson, Community Planner at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 208-468-4434.
What is a Comprehensive Plan
The Comprehensive Plan is the basic document used to guide growth and development in Nampa. The plan is meant to represent the community's consensus about where different types of development should occur and how quality of life can be enhanced for all residents. The plan covers a range of topics including economic development, housing, land use, transportation, public services and more. In total, it represents the community's vision for how it wants to grow and what it cherishes. The current comprehensive plan looks to the year 2035, this update and review will look to the year 2040.
