Downtown Nampa Christmas Tree Lighting

Mayor Tom Dale will officially light the Downtown Nampa Christmas Tree on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 6:00p.m. The Christmas tree is located in the fountain area on the corner of 2^nd Street South & 12^th Ave South. Enjoy Christmas music and children can talk with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

This year’s blue spruce was donated by the family of Marvin Meyer Sr. Father and son planted the tree at their home on E.Victory Rd. in 1953. Marvin Sr. was looking forward to seeing his tree lit up as the Nampa Christmas tree, but was very ill and passed away on November 1, 2009. His family is pleased to have this tree honor his memory.

The Pix Theater Foundation will have refreshments and the Canyon County Historical Society will hold an open house.
